Over 200 people attending The Living In Balance Wellness Retreat had a treat with information while surrounded by an intimate sanctuary filled with amazing views and lush gardens. The retreat was held at The Chopra Center inside of the Omni La Costa Resort and SPA.

This amazing event took place from August 2nd to August 5th 2018. During this sold out transformational event, attendees from all over the world were taken on a self discovery journey. By taking a guided self assessment of their current stress, illness and life patterns. Once attendees were evaluated they discovered their Prakruti Doshas which than placed them on a pathway to balance through Ayurveda “the Science of Life”- a 5,000 year old system of natural healing.

An assessment test led attendees to find imbalances in areas such as: money, career, physical wellbeing, fun, environment, community, emotional wellness, spirituality and relationships. Than several speakers guided them into a setting personalized: Detox, Meditation, eating and daily practices, emotional and stress management.

While interviewing Lauren Masztal- a program consultant at the Chopra Center its easy to see the passion poured into the retreats. She states “attending a retreat is a transformational experience. You will be exposed to new ideas and techniques that will help create a more balanced life.” Lauren feels blessed to be working at the center helping others.

Lauren states most attendees come “for prevention of illness and burnout” She also explained how most of the consultants had gone to the retreats themselves and find them truly transformational. She added “My life would be unhealthy and unbalanced. I would be in a darker place than I am now.” Having applied these techniques she explained knowing her Ayurveda is key “…by knowing my mind body type I am better able to eat, exercise and practice things that are in alignment with nourishing my mind body and soul”

Lauren shared what she feels working as a consultant “It’s incredible! The Chopra Center is so empowering. This is truly an enlightening retreat for anyone who has experienced an unbalance in their lives and has a deep desire to reset their lives with food, meditation and mindfulness.” This sentiment was definitely echoed by attendees, speakers, staff and volunteers.
